MEET LAURIE

Welcome!
My mission in life is to call forth and support positive growth and change.
To honour this mission, I've facilitated many experiential group processes over the years, became a Certified Professional Co-active Coach (CPCC) in 2011, then trained as an expressive arts therapist in 2016.
While recovering from serious injuries sustained in a 'crunch' with a distracted driver, I stumbled across the field of Post Traumatic Growth (PTG). The possibility that learning and growth might spring from this otherwise traumatic period became a beacon of light in my recovery.
Using PTG as a guide, I often see that pain and trauma can be alchemized into a source of strength and wisdom to help clients create newly resonant lives. Living with PTSD is not easy and so my commitment is to support clients and workshop participants to feel safe, stay curious, and most importantly, trust the process.
In addition to coaching individual clients, I've also delivered mental health workshops around BC, facilitated Catalyst PTSD & PTG support group for women, volunteered with local non profits, led group processes, written about and shared my experiences living an intuitive life grounded in body wisdom, and most recently, completed David Diamond's Theatre for Living training workshop.
Currently, I lead experiential 12-week courses based on Julia Cameron's The Artist’s Way as well as 7-week courses exploring racial justice, the role of white-bodied people in dismantling racism, and ways to heal beyond racism.
My passions are mental health, spirituality, and social justice so I continue to deliver inclusive, inspiring courses as well as volunteer with local non-profits.
Please visit the Workshops page for more information about upcoming workshops and courses. I also list a few things that you can do to support your own self healing and growth.
